New episodes of “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” are still a distant dream for the fans of the anime series. However, recent speculation indicates that fans might get a brand-new episode towards the end of June.

Twitter user Spiralling Sphere tweeted that “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” may return with Episode 155 Sunday (June 28). Earlier, it was rumored that the episode will air Sunday (June 14); however, it was canceled.

The latest Weekly Shonen Jump magazine listed that “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” Episode 8 will air Sunday (June 21).

It remains to be seen if fans will get to see a new “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode in June. Several other anime shows have scheduled new episodes from July, including “Food Wars!” Season 5, “The Millionaire Detective – Balance: Unlimited,” A Certain Scientific Railgun T,” and “Appare-Ranman!”

Meanwhile, “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” manga chapter is going steady, and chapter 47 will be released Thursday (June 18).

“Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” went into an indefinite hiatus after airing Episode 154. TV Tokyo released a statement announcing the delay due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and state of emergency in Japan.

“Thank you for supporting Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. Due to the declaration of a State of Emergency for COVID-19 by the Japanese government, the production schedule for new episodes of the program has been impacted. As a result, we will change the broadcast/streaming schedule for newer episodes,” read the statement, via Crunchyroll.

Episode 155 of the anime series revolves around Mitsuki and his Mikatsuki encountering a wounded man in an alleyway.

The preview trailer released for the episode teases that Team 7 will be getting a new mission in collaboration with the local police department.

The cast of “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” include Ryuuichi Kijima as Mitsuki, Yuuko Sanpei as Boruto Uzumaki, Kokoro Kikuchi as Sarada Uchiha, Shinji Kawada as Shino Aburame, Hidenori Takahashi as Konohamaru Sarutobi, Ryouko Shiraishi as Chouchou Akimichi and Nana Mizuki as Hinata Hyuuga.
