  • Britney Spears' former business partner Bobby Ochs talked about the singer’s father
  • Ochs said Jamie met some people he immediately wanted to manage the pop star’s business
  • Jamie was screaming during their discussion about the matter

Britney Spears has been asking the court to remove her dad James “Jamie” Spears from her conservatorship. Amid her legal battle with her father, a new report shared what her former business partner had to say about him.

Celebrity restaurateur Bobby Ochs spoke with Page Six exclusively and opened up about Jamie's erratic behavior. Ochs and Britney were former business partners in the restaurant Nyla, which they opened at the Dylan Hotel in 2002 but shut down just six months after. He recalled his encounter with Jamie.

"I had a similar problem with Jamie. He didn’t have any say in the business, but a few days prior to the grand opening, out of the blue, he came storming into my office at 9 a.m. with an unknown young man and woman," Ochs told Page Six.

"He appeared to be either hungover or high, because he was literally bouncing off the walls. In front of my managers and chefs he announced that the young man and woman he was with would be hired as managers for Britney’s restaurant. He was so out of it and screaming, ‘Nobody is going to ruin my little girl’s place!’ He wanted the chefs replaced and a completely new menu."

During the incident, Ochs thought their encounter would turn physical, fortunately, it didn't. When he informed Britney's mom about it, the latter wasn't surprised at all. When they learned that he just met the couple he wanted to manage Britney's restaurant, Ochs didn't accept his request.

"It turns out Jamie had met the couple he wanted to run Britney’s restaurant the night before in a random New York bar he had been drinking in. I explained to him I was the operating partner, and this could not happen. He was clearly unhinged, screaming and hollering — he was in my face and I was expecting any minute he was going to get physical," Ochs explained.

“I called Britney’s mom, Lynne, and she was not surprised. Her reaction was, ‘Oh no, not again,’ like Jamie had to be kept in check and tolerated.

Ochs said Jamie later apologized for the incident. But considering their encounter, he wasn't surprised that Britney wanted her dad to be removed from her conservatorship.

"I can’t imagine him running anything," he added.

Meanwhile, the "Stronger" hitmaker's lawyer said Britney's estate will suffer loss and injury if Jamie would not be suspended immediately from her conservatorship. Britney's conservatorship was implemented in 2008 after she suffered a mental breakdown. The arrangement granted her father and a lawyer the rights to control her estate, financial and personal assets.
