K-Pop group BTS has continued to keep the attention of their fans since their formation in 2010. Since then, members of the BTS ARMY have had several reasons to celebrate the group, ranging from their most recent album, "Map of the Soul: 7," to various records that they have broken over the years. Now, those who follow the "Boy With Luv" singers will have another positive development to discuss due to the fact that member Jungkook recently tested negative for coronavirus.

According to HuffPost, Big Hit Entertainment confirmed that the musician was tested for COVID-19 after going to a restaurant and a bar in Itaewon, a neighborhood in Seoul, South Korea, on April 25.

While the news likely comes as a relief to BTS fans, Jungkook's decision to ignore social distancing protocols also resulted in some criticism. This was due to the fact that over 150 cases of the novel coronavirus had been linked to clubs in the Itaewon nightlife district. As a result of the decision to visit the location, Big Hit Entertainment issued a statement on the BTS member.

"It is true that Jungkook visited Itaewon. He did not go to the problematic place where the patient in early May had the confirmed case, and he went about a week beforehand. He followed the government regulations and voluntarily got checked for Corona-19, and we decided that it was not our place to interfere in his personal life," it read.

Continuing, it added, "However, we have no excuse that we placed the artist’s personal life before we were able to emphasize the importance of social distancing. We bow our head in apology. Jungkook visited the restaurant and bar with his friends on the night of April 25th. Afterward, he did not have a cough or a fever, and his results came out negative. He is also deeply regretting on how he did not follow social distancing measures seriously."

They then added that the company is doing their best to follow preventative measures, such as social distancing, and are committing to working harder in order to ensure that such an event does not happen again. They also apologized for any worry that his actions may have caused fans.
