BTS member Jimin recently revealed more details about the production and release of their new album.

With the K-pop septet’s rescheduled Map of the World Tour due to the coronavirus pandemic, Jimin, 24, recently shared updates on BTS’ next album which is currently in the works. Details remain unclear regarding the anticipated release, but Jimin dished on some notable information regarding their forthcoming album.

“As our team’s production of a new album has been assigned independently to ourselves, we named the project managers (for each category), and I was put in charge of music,” the singer-songwriter revealed on YouTube.

The 24-year-old band member also shared that his tasks as the project manager of the upcoming BTS album. “I would outline how the band members want to carry out (the music producing), what style of music they want, how they want it to be organised, as well as which member would go best (with which music) and share them with the management agency,” Jimin added in reference to his responsibilities as the album’s project manager.

The news that BTS will be dropping their next album was confirmed by the K-pop septet’s team leader, RM. The 25-year-old rapper broke the news in a YouTube vlog on April 17 (Friday).

Being the first of the seven to share his personal daily routines online, RM revealed, “As many concerts have been postponed or cancelled in the prolonging of the (coronavirus pandemic) situation, we have reached a conclusion that we should try a new thing.”

The K-pop boy band’s rapper-songwriter then announced that preparations have been made for their next album release. “We will share the process (of the album preparations with fans) … although nothing has been fixed including the time of its release,” RM noted.

The sudden album announcement was further buoyed by Suga, who was among the seven members to provide further details on the band’s impending album. In a live YouTube vlog, the 27-year-old band member explained that how the project plan came into being.

“We started off by naming our own (project managers) for each category, such as music or visual (effects),” Suga said. “A video on it will soon be unveiled.”

BTS’ new project is likely to become their first self-produced album once it's officially finished. For now, fans should be on the lookout for another teaser by the band members regarding new updates and details on their soon-to-be album.
