In a horrific incident, a California man was caught in the act of cannibalizing his 90-year-old grandmother on Monday. Authorities said that they arrested the 37-year-old, identified as Dwayne Wallick of Richmond.

Wallick is expected to face murder charges in the death of Ruby Wallick, with whom he lived, the East Bay Times reported. As of Wednesday, he remained in a hospital where he was being treated for unspecified injuries.

According to local reports, Richmond police officers went to the Wallick home after receiving a 911 call about a man standing over a woman’s bloody body. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Wallick standing over his grandmother, actively cannibalizing her.

The officers ordered him to stop but he refused, forcing them to use a stun gun to subdue him. He was handcuffed and taken into custody following a struggle.

Detectives are investigating whether drugs played a role in Wallick’s alleged actions. An investigation is underway into the incident. The 90-year-old woman's cause of death was also not revealed.

In 2016, a 23-year-old was arrested in Florida after he launched a random attack on married couple, John Stevens and his wife, Michelle Mishcon in 2016. The man killed the couple and then chewed one of his victim's faces.

The couple was dead and police reported that the suspect was on top of John and chewing his face. Officers shouted at the suspect, who was allegedly growling like a dog, to get off the victims but he wouldn't listen and was eventually only pulled off when several police officers got involved.
