The Philadelphia Eagles are almost halfway home to an undefeated season. The team improved its record to 8-0 Thursday night with a win over the Houston Texans, and the Eagles might not suffer their first loss anytime soon.

Can the Eagles go undefeated? The odds suggest that it's highly unlikely Philadelphia will become the third team in NFL history to complete a perfect regular season.

The Eagles have +1100 odds at FanDuel Sportsbook to go 17-0 in the 2022 regular season. Philadelphia's over/under win total is 14.5 victories.

Philadelphia might not go 17-0, but it could remain undefeated for several more weeks. The Eagles don't have a very difficult schedule over the final 10 games of the season.

The Eagles will host the Washington Commanders in their next game. Philadelphia has already been named a 10.5-point favorite against the NFC East's last-place team.

Week 11 could be a more difficult matchup since the Eagles will be on the road, but they'll still be favored against the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts enter Week 9 with a 3-4-1 record. Colts quarterback Sam Ehlinger is about to make only the second start of his NFL career.

Hosting the Green Bay Packers in Week 12 once looked like a daunting task. The Packers, however, have lost four straight games and are one of the league's most disappointing teams. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has outplayed back-to-back MVP Aaron Rodgers, who has gotten little help from his receiving corps.

A Week 13 road game against the Tennessee Titans and a Week 14 home matchup with the New York Giants should be easy. Neither team is considered to be a top Super Bowl contender. Philadelphia is almost certain to be favored in both contests.

Week 16 presents Philadelphia's biggest remaining challenge. The Eagles will visit the Dallas Cowboys, who are 6-2 with one of the league's top defenses. Philadelphia beat Dallas 26-17 at home in Week 6 when Cooper Rush started for the injured Dak Prescott.

Six of Philadelphia's wins have come by eight points or more. The Eagles still haven't trailed during the second half of any game. Since beating the Detroit Lions 38-35 in the season opener, Philadelphia has held every opponent to 21 points or fewer.

Because the regular-season schedule only expanded to 17 games last year, no team has ever gone 17-0 before the playoffs. The 2007 New England Patriots had a 16-0 regular season before losing in the Super Bowl. The 1972 Miami Dolphins remain the only team to complete a perfect season, going 14-0 in the regular season before winning two AFC playoff games and the Super Bowl.

The 2015 Carolina Panthers were the last team to make a serious bid at a perfect season. They won 14 straight games before suffering their first loss.
