Carrie Underwood recently proved that she looks just as good with or without makeup.

Over the weekend, the country singer, 36, revealed her bare face in a new workout selfie she posted on Instagram. In the snap, Underwood smiles at the camera after an intense gym session, wearing a pink tank top with the statement, "I'm doing this for me," in the left side.

Along with the makeup-free selfie, Underwood also shared a close-up photo of the words on her top and a snap of her floral leggings. In her caption, Mike Fisher's wife talked about her outfit, revealing that it was one of her favorite workout gear.

"When your face matches your shirt = you had a good workout! Unless your shirt is blue...then maybe you should be concerned! (sorry, total mom joke)," she wrote.

Underwood also explained that she actually worked out the day before and spent Sunday doing some spring cleaning. "I took these pics after my gym sesh yesterday (today I’m cleaning this mess of a house, which I totally consider to be my Saturday workout)," she continued. "This is one of my favorite new outfits...I especially love the top because this is basically my motto these days!"

Underwood's Instagram post comes over a week after she confessed that she has been experiencing some personal struggles after giving birth to her second child, Jacob.

Last month, the singer revealed in another post that she has been struggling to regain her former figure after her second pregnancy, explaining that "bouncing back" has been "much more difficult" compared to her first one with eldest son Isaiah.

Underwood confessed that she has been "pretty hard" on herself while trying to shed her pregnancy weight. She explained that part of the problem is that despite all her in the time, she "can't run as fast or as far." Underwood also said that she "can't lift as much weight or do as many reps" as she could one year ago.

The singer went on to say that she felt like her body is just a "home for Jacob" even after delivering her child and like it doesn't belong to her anymore. "I just want to feel like myself again...for my body to feel the way that I know it can," she admitted.

However, Underwood plans to "take it day by day" and will continue to work toward her goals.

"As I prepare for red carpets and for life on tour, right now I make a promise to myself to start appreciating what my body CAN do and stop focusing on what it can’t. I promise to stop analyzing every angle and every curve and every pound and every meal," she said.
