The first official trailer for “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” was released Thursday, and the Netflix series looks like the creepiest iteration of the witch yet. Though the teaser video (seen above) had less than 50 seconds of footage, there were probably still a few things viewers may have missed.

1. Greendale License Plate — The car seen at the beginning of the promo video has a license plate that lacks a state. Instead, it simply says Greendale. Fans of “Riverdale” know that this is the neighboring town of the CW show. While the shows are on two different networks and executives have said that there won’t be crossovers, it looks like there will still be a few easter eggs.

2. Cerberus Books — That bookstore might be significant on the Kiernan Shipka-led drama. In Greek mythology, Cerberus is the three-headed dog that guards the underworld gates to prevent the dead from leaving. That seems relatively important for a show that’s going to be dealing with demonology.

3. Demonology Class — After showing what looks like a normal high school hallway with teenagers and lockers, a classroom is shown, but viewers need to hit the pause button to realize something is off. The class doesn’t appear to be in a normal high school setting, and the teacher’s blackboard is all about demonology. It notes that it is demons’ “culture to inflict terror.”

4. It Gets Weirder — Around the 20-second mark, you likely noticed that the three girls appear to have skull makeup on their faces after emerging from some sort of cave. However, what’s behind them seems important too. There are several young men lying on the ground in their underwear. It seems likely that this is darker than just a teen prank.

5. “Village of the Damned” Poster — This 1960 movie poster, featuring Barbara Shelley and George Saunders, appears in someone’s bedroom while a person seems to be doing a ritual on Sabrina. Expect several nods to horror movies throughout “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” including an episode where they pay homage to “The Exorcist.”

6. Hilda and Zelda — Fans of the sitcom “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” remember that Hilda and Zelda are essential characters. While they don’t seem to appear much in the trailer, they seem to be there at the end. Their hands are on Sabrina’s shoulders as she blows out her birthday candles. Hilda will be played by Lucy Davis while Miranda Otto will portray Zelda.

“The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” Season 1 premieres Oct. 26 on Netflix.
