  • Chris Rock's brother, Tony Rock, claimed they are still "waiting" for Will Smith to speak directly to the comedian and their family
  • Tony described the Oscars altercation as "foul"
  • He also claimed that Sean "Diddy" Combs wasn't being truthful when the rapper said Chris and Smith have reconciled

Will Smith hasn't spoken to Chris Rock directly since slapping him at the 2022 Oscars ceremony Sunday, the comedian's brother has claimed.

While answering questions on Twitter for his weekly "20 Questions Tuesday," Tony Rock made it clear that he doesn't approve of Smith’s apology to his brother, whom the "King Richard" actor smacked across the face during the Oscars after the comedian made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith's shaved head.

"Do you approve of the apology?" one person asked on Twitter. "No," Tony responded.

As for how he feels about the Oscars altercation, the 47-year-old comedian responded with a one-word answer: "Foul."

When a fan asked how his brother was doing, Tony, who has seven siblings, replied, "All of them are fine." When specifically asked how Chris, 57, is holding up, he said, "Still rich."

One Twitter user pointed out that Tony worked with Smith and his wife for several years. The actor starred in the UPN series "All of Us," which was created and executive produced by the couple.

When Tony was asked whether he is "open" to hearing from Smith directly, he replied, "Waiting…," suggesting that the "Men In Black" actor hasn't reached out to Chris or the Rock family privately.

Smith issued a public apology to Chris via Instagram Monday, acknowledging that his behavior at the Academy Awards was "unacceptable and inexcusable." He claimed that the root of his actions was that hearing "a joke about Jada's medical condition was too much for me to bear."

"I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong," Smith wrote. "I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness."

Despite Smith's public apology, Tony claimed that Sean "Diddy" Combs wasn't being truthful when the music mogul told Page Six that Chris and the Oscar winner had allegedly settled their feud and made amends since the awards show.

Chris, who returned to the stage Wednesday to continue his "Ego Death" comedy tour, received a standing ovation from the audience. During his show, he briefly addressed the Oscars altercation, saying he was "still processing it."

He also confirmed that he and Smith haven't spoken since the incident. "I haven't talked to anyone, despite what you heard," Chris was quoted by People as saying.

On Wednesday, Diddy clarified his comments about Chris and Smith allegedly squashing their beef, telling TMZ in a statement: "I never confirmed they had reconciled. I said, 'As brothers, they will work it out, and let's move on with love.'"

An anonymous source close to the rapper told the outlet that Diddy understands that people are still hurting and doesn't want to be the middleman or take the focus off of the conflict.

Chris has declined to press charges and remains focused on his comedy tour. He has two shows on Thursday and one on Friday.
