Screen Media Films has dropped a trailer for the supernatural thriller movie "Monstrous," featuring actress Christina Ricci. The one-minute, 53 seconds official trailer shows Ricci as Laura, a woman who encounters a terrifying monster.

The clip starts with Laura moving into a new house with her son named Kody (played by Santino Barnard). Mr. Langtree (played by Don Durrell) gives her the keys to the new house after welcoming her.

At night, Kody notices something unusual outside the window, and after a while, he screams and calls his mother to his room. "Mom there's a monster outside my window," he tells his mother. She explains, "You and I are completely safe like two bugs snug in a rug."

The mother and son duo continues to stay in the house and in the end of the trailer, Laura can be seen encountering a big monster. The trailer was shared on YouTube on Thursday.

While some fans shared their excitement for the movie, some noted that they have shown too much in the trailer already. The movie is slated to release on May 13. It is helmed by director Chris Sivertson and penned by writer Carol Chrest.

The movie also stars Colleen Camp, Lew Temple, Carol Anne Watts, Peter Hodge, Nick Vallelonga, Sally Elbert and Rachael Edlow. The story of the supernatural thriller revolves around a mother who takes his child far away from her husband due to domestic violence. She later finds herself in bigger trouble as she deals with a monster.

Besides "Monstrous," Ricci will be next seen in a comedy-horror TV series, "Wednesday," which is currently under post-production. The series will also star Jenna Ortega, Luis Guzman, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Georgie Farmer, George Burcea and Gwendoline Christie.

She will also appear in an action sci-fi thriller movie, "The Dresden Sun," which is helmed and penned by Michael Ryan. It will also star Mena Suvari, Steven Ogg, Linus Roache, Samantha Win, Aron Craven and Anne Marie Howard.

Besides featuring in the movies, Ricci is currently working on an animated drama, titled "Unplugged." She will lend her voice to Kit's character. It is helmed by directors Paul McComas and Holly Trasti.
