The 10th anniversary celebration of Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas event kicks off tonight with the premiere of the new 2019 movie, “Christmas Wishes & Mistletoe Kisses,” starring Jill Wagner and Matthew Davis.

Hallmarkies will know Wagner from her “Mystery 101” franchise, which airs on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, as well as for all of her previous Hallmark Channel movies, like “Pearl in Paradise” and “Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa.”

Though Davis is making his network debut tonight with his first Hallmark movie, viewers will likely recognize his from his roles in “Legally Blonde” and “Blue Crush,” as well as for his time on The CW’s “The Vampire Diaries” and his current “TVD” spinoff show, “Legacies,” which is now airing its second season.

In Hallmark Channel’s “Christmas Wishes & Mistletoe Kisses,” which is based on the novel of the same name by Jenny Hale, Wagner plays Abbey Fuller, a former interior designer, while Davis plays Nick, the CEO of Sinclair Enterprises.

According to the synopsis, “Abbey Fuller traded the uncertainties of running a small business for a 9-5 job that lets her keep a consistent schedule for her five-year-old son Max (Wyatt Hunt). Her talent and passion for the work are undeniable and her friend, wealthy widow Caroline Sinclair (Mills), is eager to see Abbey re-launch her career. And Caroline has just the project to get her started: redecorating the grand Sinclair family estate, which recently became home to Caroline’s son, Nick (Davis), the CEO of Sinclair Enterprises. It’s an exciting opportunity – and a daunting one, given the size of the estate and the aesthetic nightmare of its current furnishings.

“Moreover, Abbey has less than four weeks to complete work on the ground floor, where Nick will host the Christmas Eve gala that could make or break the expansion of the family business. But the biggest challenge may be Nick himself, a buttoned-up workaholic who is too busy to give Abbey any direction. Plunging into the task at hand, Abbey works her magic not only on the Sinclair Estate, but also on Nick, who begins to show glimpses of the kind, thoughtful man behind the reserved façade. Just as they are edging closer together, a misunderstanding threatens to put the mistletoe out of reach.”

Directed by D.J. Viola and written by Liz Sczudlo, the new Hallmark Christmas movie also stars “The Fosters” alum Brandon Quinn (Dr. Mike Acosta), as well as Rachel Hendrix (Kate Newhall), Darby Hinton (Philip Fuller), Donna Mills (Caroline Sinclair), Marquita Goings (Desiree Squires), Charles Green (Walter Fairbanks), Bruce C. Taylor (Ham Acosta), Dorothy M. Steel (Dolores) and Kenneth Israel (Bob McManus).

“Christmas Wishes & Mistletoe Kisses” premieres on Hallmark Channel on Saturday at 8 p.m. EDT.
