A Tennessee man admitted to throwing his 2-day-old daughter into the Mississippi River after he lured the child's mother to her death.

Brandon Isabelle, who turned 25 Tuesday, was charged with two counts of murder and a count each of especially aggravated kidnapping, murder in connection with a kidnapping and tampering with evidence over the death of Danielle Hoyle and the disappearance of their daughter, Kennedy Hoyle, a report by WREG News Channel 3 said.

Danielle was found dead outside her Chevrolet Cruze sedan in Whitehaven Tuesday. The 27-year-old, who left the house to take her daughter to the hospital for a checkup, had been shot in the head, according to police.

Kennedy, meanwhile, is still missing and presumed dead. The infant's car seat was found near a dumpster outside a Walmart in Whitehaven.

Isabelle was detained Wednesday after officials attempted to search for his daughter. He later admitted to luring and fatally shooting Danielle in the area where she was found, Fox 5 Atlanta reported, citing an affidavit.

Isabelle also admitted to taking Kennedy to the north end of Mud Island where the Wolf River enters the Mississippi River and throwing the child into the water, along with the gun that was used to kill Danielle.

The search for Kennedy was suspended Thursday due to inclement weather, as per WREG News Channel 3. It will continue when the weather permits authorities to do so, police said.

Isabelle was given no bond following his arrest, and he was scheduled to appear in an arraignment hearing Friday. He has traffic infractions, previous records in Shelby County showed.

The relationship between Isabelle and Danielle was unclear.

Anyone with any information regarding the case is urged to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.

A similar incident happened in the Indian state of Gujarat in November when a woman allegedly threw her 18-day-old baby into a river following a fight with her husband, which resulted in the infant's death.

The mother, identified as 39-year-old Sahin Shaikh, confessed to throwing her child in the Tapi river located in the city of Surat on Nov. 12 after she had a dispute with her husband. She initially claimed her daughter had been kidnapped, but police became suspicious after she changed her statement several times.

Authorities were able to retrieve the child's body on Nov. 14, and an official complaint was filed against Shaikh.
