Screenwriter David S. Goyer has revealed that making a movie about Batman is easier than making one for Superman because it is easier to work with a character like Batman “realistically” than with Superman, who is from another planet.

While speaking at the Comic-Con @ Home, the 54-year-old writer said that it is really difficult to develop a movie script around a metahuman that hails from “another planet.”

“To a certain extent, it was easier to say we are going to adapt Batman in a realistic way. It is easier to work with a character like Batman realistically than it is with a metahuman from another planet. There is a higher threshold for suspension of disbelief with Superman than there is with Batman,” Goyer said.

Speaking about Zack Snyder’s “Man Of Steel,” Goyer said that he tried to tell the story of Superman in a “realistic way” and that he always thought about what would happen if a strong character like him (Superman) emerged in the real world.

He also explained that the whole premise of the movie was a character like that in the real world would have been the “biggest thing” in the entire human history.

“The attempt with 'Man of Steel' was to apply the same kind of standards, to tell the story of 'Man of Steel' in a fairly realistic way and to try to think about what would happen to the world if a character like that emerged. The entire premise of the movie was that if a character like this emerged from another world who had these kinds of powers, it would be the biggest thing that ever happened in human history,” Goyer explained.

Henry Cavill portrayed the character Superman/Clark Kent in the movie while Amy Adams played Lois Lane and Michael Shannon portrayed General Zod.

Goyer is known for writing movies like “Batman Begins,” “The Dark Knight,” “Blade,” “Man Of Steel” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

“Batman Begins” and “The Dark Knight” are two of the most acclaimed superhero movies of all time. The movies were praised for their amazing storytelling and dialogues.
