She has been determined to find any evidence she can that would prove Ben set fire to the cabin and tried to kill Ciara, but keep coming up short. However, now, after claiming she found something new that ties him to the crime, Hope will find herself facing accusations of being a dirty cop on the Friday, Sept. 14 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

Hope (Kristian Alfonso) has refused to believe Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) turned over a new leaf, despite Ciara’s (Victoria Konefal) insistence he was a new man on the NBC soap. Ever since learning Ben had moved into the loft with her, Claire (Olivia Keegan) and Tripp (Lucas Adams), Hope has been even more determined than before to prove that Ben set the fire that nearly killed Ciara, but any avenue she tried seemed to indicate some level of innocence. Now though, she has shown up at the loft’s door and revealed some new evidence has come to light, arresting Ben and bringing him to the station as a result.

However, Hope may find some unexpected holes poked into her new claims, as Ben will be sure to once again insist upon his innocence, even with alleged evidence now against him. He may even be the first to accuse Hope of playing dirty and abusing her power as the police commissioner—by stating she planted the evidence.

Shockingly, he won’t be the only one who may wonder if Hope went too far and created evidence that hadn’t previously existed. After seeing Rafe (Galen Gering) comfort Sami (Alison Sweeney) once again, she became more determined than ever to take Ben down, even stating to both her husband and her son, Shawn (Brandon Beemer) that she would get the evidence she needed by the end of the day. Sure enough, she seems to have done so, and that will likely pique everyone’s interest since it happened so fast now, after previously having nothing that could tie Ben to the crime.

Now, the standoff will be on, as Hope continues trying to take the former serial killer down, but is forced to fight her own unexpected battle as well.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
