She thought for sure she could finally bring Ben in and keep him away from Ciara for good when she found evidence with his fingerprint on it at the cabin. However, now that she knows it was planted, Hope is on the hunt to find out who may have ruined her case against the former serial killer on the Wednesday, Oct. 17 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

Hope (Kristian Alfonso) herself was the one who was believed to have planted the new evidence against Ben (Robert Scott Wilson), which tied him to the cabin fire that almost killed Ciara (Victoria Konefal). However, after she was cleared on the NBC soap, she and Rafe (Galen Gering) became perplexed as they tried to figure out who may have tried framing the man they want to see locked up. They already questioned JJ (Casey Moss), who could have had some motive since Ben had killed his former girlfriend and almost killed his sister, but it quickly became clear that the former cop was not guilty.

Now, Hope will reveal she has a theory about who may have planted the evidence, and she will tell Rafe who she suspects may have been behind the plot.

While they may not realize it right away, they will have a decent list of potential suspects to sort through because of Ben’s past as a serial killer. Several people want him gone, and could have taken a big risk to try and get him locked back up. In addition to JJ, Abigail (Marci Miller), Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), Chad (Billy Flynn) and Eve (Kassie DePaiva) are all still in town and would have motives for trying to plant evidence. Eve may become the next target since Hope and Rafe were both witnesses to when she attacked Ben and tried to kill him herself because he murdered her daughter.

However, there is someone else who would have a motive, though it wouldn’t be in relation to Ben’s past crimes. Tripp (Lucas Adams) knew Ben was his romantic rival when it came to winning Ciara, and since the planted evidence, Ciara has turned against the man she was starting to feel a connection with, and even slept with Tripp to cement their relationship. He may also have planted the evidence—and would have definitely had a way of getting his enemy’s fingerprints since they lived together.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
