A woman declared dead by the doctors came back to life at the hospital morgue in front of shocked family members. The incident took place in Karachi, Pakistan, last Thursday.

According to local reports, the woman, identified as 50-year-old Rasheeda Bibi, was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where she was pronounced dead by the doctors. Her body was shifted to the morgue and a dead certificate was issued by the doctors.

Speaking to local daily the Express Tribune, the woman’s daughter-in-law said, “Her body had been shifted to the morgue for 20 minutes and we had started giving her a funeral bath.” Suddenly, another woman who was present at the scene, noticed Bibi’s limbs moving and alerted others about it.

The family members “then hurriedly checked her pulse to find out that she was still breathing.” They then informed the hospital staff and the woman was shifted to the hospital where she was undergoing treatment.

The incident took place a day after a “dead” woman in the southern Indian state of Karnataka woke up just before her funeral. Malati Chougule, 55, was admitted to a hospital with a high fever. She lost consciousness at the hospital and was declared dead by the doctors. The woman’s family then took her home for final rites. The relatives placed the body in the front yard of the home and began preparations for the funeral. Suddenly, the woman opened her eyes and got up in front of shocked family members.
