  • Chris Daughtry's stepdaughter Hannah Price was found dead in her home Friday
  • An investigation into her death is ongoing
  • Authorities said it's still "premature" to rule her death a homicide

Authorities in Tennessee have said it would be "premature" to label the death of Chris Daughtry's stepdaughter a homicide. An investigation into the sudden death of Hanna Price is ongoing after the 25-year-old's body was found at her home in Fentress County on Friday.

An autopsy was conducted but the medical examiner's office did not release a cause or manner of death, the Fentress County Sheriff's Department said in a statement to People. Though Price's boyfriend is already in custody, authorities have yet to determine whether it has to do something with the woman's death.

The district attorney for Tennessee's Seventh District said it would be too early to determine the cause of Price's death.

"On Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, the Fentress County Sheriff's Office and the Regional Forensic Center began an investigation into the death of Hannah Marie Price, age 25," the district attorney said in a statement.

"This is a death investigation and any attempt to classify it as a homicide investigation at this time is premature and irresponsible. Further, no one has been arrested pertaining to the death of Ms. Price. Once the investigation into the death of Hannah Marie Price is complete, authorities will forward their findings to the Eighth Judicial District Attorney General's Office for review," he added.

Authorities would release Price's cause of death later this week. However, it would take several weeks for toxicology results to come out.

Daughtry shared a photo of Price on Instagram on Saturday and wrote, "I am still processing the last 24 hours. I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken. I just recently lost my mother to cancer but I was blessed with the chance to say goodbye and I was processing it privately. We never got to say goodbye to our precious Hannah and it's another huge hit to our family."
