American singer, songwriter, and actor Demi Lovato has plenty to celebrate these days. Lovato, who identifies as non-binary and recently went back to using "she/her" pronouns, rings in her 30th birthday on Sunday.

With fame often comes fortune, and Lovato has amassed quite a lucrative career since gaining fame in 2008 with a prominent music career.

While a public figure's fortune is always difficult to gauge and subject to many factors, the website Celebrity Net Worth estimates that the "Sorry Not Sorry" singer has assets totaling $40 million.

It was a long road to the top for the Albuquerque native. Lovato started as a child actor, landing a role on "Barney & Friends" as the character Angela.

Years later, Lovato appeared in the Disney Channel short series "As the Bell Rings" and later landed roles in the network's television film "Camp Rock" and the series "Sonny with a Chance."

While it is unknown how much Lovato made on the show, some estimates suggest the salary was $12,000 per episode.

"Sonny with a Chance" ran from 2009 to 2011 with a total of 47 episodes, which means Lovato could have earned $564,000 from the show.

Lovato signed with Hollywood Records in 2008 and released the album "Don't Forget" that same year.

It wasn't until 2009 that Lovato released a number one album: "Here We Go Again." It debuted at the top of the Billboard 200.

In 2009, Lovato also starred alongside Selena Gomez in Disney's TV movie "Princess Protection Program" and appeared in "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam" the following year.

From 2012 to 2013, Lovato sat on the judge's panel of the singing competition "The X Factor."

The singer reportedly earned as much as $2 million a year to mentor and judge the contestants.

Following the stint on the popular NBC series, Lovato went on to release several albums, including "Demi" (2013), "Confident" (2015), and "Tell Me You Love Me" (2017).

The "Tell Me You Love Me World Tour" grossed more than $21 million and was Lovato's most successful tour.

After taking a hiatus in 2018 following an overdose, Lovato released the single "Anyone" in January 2020.

Days ahead of Lovato's upcoming birthday was the release of the single "29," which Lovato noted was a "record about the wisdom that comes with age."

Lovato, who has sold about 25 million albums worldwide, has received two Grammy Award nominations, four Billboard Music Awards nominations, and three Brit Award nominations.
