After a few months of silence about the upcoming PS4 game “Demon Slayer: Hinokami Kepputan,” the game designer and CEO of CyberConnect 2 offered fresh details on its development.

CyberConnect2 CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama shared about the latest update on the development of “Demon Slayer: Hinokami Kepputan” in the latest issue of the Japanese magazine Famitsu. The information was shared by Ryokutya2089 and reported by Siliconera. “The development is going well, but it’s getting hectic with various adjustments, Hiroshi said.

“Demon Slayer: Hinokami Kepputan” was announced in Mar. 2020 along with a trailer. Unfortunately, the teaser trailer is region-locked to Japan. Aside from showcasing Tanjiro, the trailer does not reveal much about the upcoming PS4 game.

So far, it was revealed that "Demon Slayer: Hinokami Kepputan" is a demon-slaying versus action title. It is set to release on PlayStation 4. CyberConnect2 is also working on another game titled “Demon Slayer: Keppu Kengeki Royal.” In this mobile game, players are given a choice to be a part of the Demon Slayer Corps or be the demon themselves.

The game promises to offer an all-out battle between the demon and the demon slayers and features asymmetrical gameplay. “Demon Slayer: Keppu Kengeki Royal” is a free to play game with microtransactions. It will be available on iOS and Android devices in Japan in 2020.

Meanwhile, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba” film released in Japan a few days ago. The anime adaptation of the hit manga shattered all-time opening records for the highest opening weekend globally for the Oct. 16-18 weekend. “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba” film sold 3,424,930 tickets and earned around $43.85 million in Japan in its first three days.

On its opening day, the “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba” film sold 910,507 tickets and earned around $12.03 million, making it the highest weekday opening day for in Japan. The movie sees Tanjiro Kamado, the main protagonist, and his friends from the “Demon Slayer” Corps on board the Infinity Train.

Their mission is to uncover the mystery behind the alleged disappearances caused by a demon known to torment people and slaughter demon slayers. Funimation is set to release “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba-The Movie: Mugen Train” in North America in the early part of 2021.
