  • Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner did not spend Christmas with Donald Trump

Donald Trump wanted another man for his daughter Ivanka Trump not Jared Kushner.

Ivanka married Jared Kushner in 2009. However, according to Andrea Bernstein in her new book “American Oligarchs: The Kushners, the Trumps, and the Marriage of Money and Power,” the POTUS was not convinced that Kushner was the perfect groom for his daughter. In fact, the president wanted an athlete for the first daughter.

“Jared is half the size of Tom Brady’s arm. Why couldn’t she have married Tom Brady? Have you seen how far he throws a football?” Trump reportedly told Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots.

The POTUS was “upset and disappointed” when he was told that Ivanka was marrying a Jew and was more upset when his own daughter converted to Orthodox Judaism. Initially, Kushner’s parents also didn’t approve of Ivanka for their son because they raised him as a strict Orthodox Jew. They even refused to meet Trump’s daughter.

Ivanka and Kushner met in 2007. They were introduced to each other by diamond merchant Moshe Lax. However, their romance briefly ended due to their differences in religion.

Ivanka’s friend Wendi Deng Murdoch helped the exes reunite on a yacht. In 2008, Trump’s daughter started studying Torah and observing the Sabbath. She also learned how to cook Kosher and was even tested by a religious panel. She also participated in a ritual cleansing dip.

Kushner and Ivanka eventually married in a lavish but traditional Orthodox wedding. Their 500 guests dined on Kosher pastrami, corned beef, turkey, sushi and Peking duck.

According to their family and guests, they only responded to Trump’s “implied command” that they attend the said “marriage of money and power, to acknowledge the authority of the patriarchs.”

In December, Ivanka didn’t join Trump for Christmas. The first daughter and her husband were spotted enjoying Christmas Eve in Paris. She shared a sweet photo of them spending some quality time together on Instagram.

According to Kushner, Ivanka is just like her dad, Trump. The POTUS and the first daughter are meticulous with details and they have great memory, too. Also, Trump is an expert in how to drive people and Ivanka has the same skill. The father and daughter are also results-oriented people and excellent communicators.
