Dubai International Airport is expected to receive about 75 million passengers by 2015 and 98.5 million passengers by 2020, Dubai Airports has revealed.

According to new findings released by Dubai Airports as part of their ten year traffic forecast for Dubai International Airport and Dubai World Central-Al Maktoum, passenger numbers will rise by 7.2 percent and 6.7 percent respectively from 2012, which outperforms the global average of 5%.

Passenger numbers in Dubai International have continued to increase with a growth of 9 percent in 2009 over the previous year.

The news from Dubai Airports makes for very positive reading for travelers heading to Dubai as it shows that more and more people are choosing to travel to Dubai. This new announcement reveals that more and more holidaymakers are opting to book holidays in Dubai, Daniel Ox of Beat The Brochure, travel technology service provider, said.

Dubai World Central-Al Maktoum International is currently used as a cargo hub, and is set to begin receiving passengers from 2012.
