Ed Sheeran got candid about how his wife Cherry Seaborn lost their engagement ring at a strip club, and also revealed that he made a mention of it in one of his songs.

The 30-year-old singer appeared on "The God's Honest Truth" over the weekend and revealed the story behind his newly dropped music album, "= (Preview)" featuring a music track titled, "Collide."

During the interview, host Charlamagne Tha God asked the singer about the lyrics, "We made love in the sky/ Overslept and missed the Northern Lights/ You lost your wedding ring, but I didn't mind/ 'Cause I got a feeling, baby, we'll be fine."

Sheeran responded, "Now that's a f—ing story. She's gonna hate that I'm saying all this stuff."

The singer explained that he usually doesn’t go to strip clubs as it is not good for his image and clarified that he "write[s] songs from the heart about relationships" that he's had in his life.

"I don't have a problem with anyone doing that, but it's just not something that I want to do," he added before sharing what exactly happened that day in Toronto.

"But my friends like going [to strip clubs]. So we're in Toronto and they go, 'We're going to a strip club'— and mind you, Cherry is there. I'm like, 'Cool guys. I'm peacing out, I'm gonna get some sleep and go back to the hotel.' And that's where she lost it," he told the host.

Sheeran recalled how he checked with the strip club in the morning.

"I remember bringing it up the morning after, and sort of like halfway through the conversation. Realizing how stupid it was sounding, 'Hey guys, if you find an engagement ring. Can you-'"

The singer noted that at that time he knew the ring was lost. However, later he learned that his now-wife had fallen asleep on a hotel's couch and the ring was found under the sofa.

The host took to Instagram to praise the singer and his partner's trust in each other by sharing the same interview clip.

"This is what you call trust in your partner. You don’t even have this level of understanding If you don’t trust your partner 100%," he wrote in the caption.

Sheeran and Seaborn got married in 2019 and they both have a one-year-old daughter named Lyra Antarctica.
