Elon Musk is criticized for not delivering the ventilators he promised.

The SpaceX CEO has reportedly promised to donate ventilators amid the coronavirus pandemic. California Governor Gavin Newsom announced on March 23 that the Tesla founder was donating 1,000 ventilators to the state, but there has been no update about it, The Sacramento Bee reported.

Newsom’s announcement was a delight because the state was desperate for ventilators to help coronavirus patients who are in critical condition. However, some are already questioning if it was true because the government has not received any of it.

Meanwhile, Musk reportedly purchased Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure (BPAP) machines, plastered them with Tesla stickers and shipped them to New York. However, the BPAP machines are not ventilators and are used to treat sleep apnea.

Financial Times reported that Musk delivered at least one “invasive” ventilator to New York but that was it. Not one has been delivered to California and Tesla has reportedly ignored the request for an interview.

Jamil Smith, senior writer at Rolling Stone, shared the report on Twitter. Several reacted to the post, with many questioning Musk’s efforts. One even said that he was so bad at it.

“Why is Elon Musk so bad at philanthropy?” a netizen asked.

“Nobody should take Musk seriously,” one added.

“No kidding! He has a huge new solar plant in Buffalo. Promised to start making ventilators there weeks ago. As of today, not only no vent production, they laid people off,” a different user claimed.

“This was never going to happen. He loves publicity. Remember when the boys were trapped in the cave??” @TimJeep6 added.

“Never trust billionaires,” @DeNarde4MDDel wrote.

In related news, Musk unfollowed her baby mama Grimes amid Johnny Depp’s allegations that he had a relationship with Amber Heard when they were still married. Musk denied it and insisted that Heard had already broke up with the actor when they started seeing each other and their relationship did not become romantic until some time later.
