‘Empire’ Season 2 Spoilers: Episode 14 Synopsis Released; What Will Happen In ‘Time Shall Unfold’? [VIDEO]

Hakeem made a serious commitment in episode 13 of “Empire” Season 2 when he got engaged to his current girlfriend Laura. Everything seems to be going right for the youngest Lyon, but that could soon change when he learns the jaw-dropping news that Anika is pregnant with his child in episode 14, titled “Time Shall Unfold.”

According to the synopsis, Anika (Grace Gealey) “will reveal a big secret to the family,” which will be the fact that she’s carrying Hakeem’s (Bryshere Y. Gray) baby. Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) brings Anika to the Lyons to break the news in the episode 14 promo video. Hakeem is shocked, while Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) can’t believe that Anika is that “thirsty.” While the baby drama begins to unfold, Hakeem will also have to go to an “important meeting of the shareholders.”

While Hakeem’s life could start to spiral out of control, Lucious (Terrence Howard) will look to find a way to once again become the CEO of Empire. The synopsis says Lucious will use “manipulation” and “sabotage” while he looks to get back what he believes is his. The promo video for episode 14 shows Hakeem speaking to an audience as CEO only to be cut off by Lucious, who begins asking Hakeem tough questions “Any competent CEO should answer.” The head of the Lyon family will also show his personal “Boom Boom Boom Boom” video to world.

Andre (Trai Byers) went off on his father in episode 13 after he learned that his grandmother, Leah Walker (Kelly Rowland), suffered from bipolar disorder too. Lucious made Andre feel bad about himself for having the mental illness his whole life instead of acknowledging that the condition runs in the family. Andre will now dig deeper in his grandmother’s past to “better understand” his illness.

Aside from Lyon family drama, the Freda Gatz (Bre-Z) storyline is also starting to heat up on the show. Cookie learned that Freda is the daughter of Frank Gathers (Chris Rock), which she sees as a potential problem for the family considering she and Lucious had him killed in prison. Cookie is afraid that Freda will retaliate against one of her sons if she finds out the truth about what happened to her father. Will Freda target one of the Lyon boys if she discovers what Lucious did to her father?
