Fans are eagerly waiting for the release of the highly anticipated third season of “Castlevania.”

Launched back in 2017, the series was an adaptation of the popular video game franchise and follows the story of Dracula (Graham McTavish,) who makes his wrath on Walachia after the church murders his wife. Bounty hunter Trevor Belmont (Richard Armitage) remains as the only man who can stop him. With its rich story and mythology based on the video games, it’s no wonder viewers are excited about the new season. So what can we expect for the next installment in the animated series? Here’s what we know so far.

Castlevania Released A Tease For Fans At New York Comic Con

During a panel with the cast and creators of “Castlevania” at New York Comic-Con, fans were enthralled by the makings of the hit series. However, no one was expecting to see a teaser clip of what’s to come for the third season. It wasn’t released online, but the video did show Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades (Alejandra Reynoso) in their carriage as they expect to find some creatures ready to attack. It’s pretty much just how the second season ended with them riding off together. Hopefully, we’ll get to see more when an actual trailer drops soon.

Season Three May Release In Late 2019 or Early 2020

We have yet to see a release date for the third season, but there has been speculation that it may drop on Netflix as early as the first week in December. The Netflix Nordic account on Twitter revealed that the new season of “Castlevania” might come to the streamer on Dec. 1. The tweet has since been deleted, according to ComicBook.com, so it does put the release date in question. With the new season in production, we may not get any new episodes until possibly during the New Year.

A Bold New World Awaits In Season Three

In the season finale, Dracula was finally defeated by his son Alucard (James Callis) with some help from Trevor and Sypha. With the rest of Dracula’s horde in the world, the three go their separate ways with Trevor and Sypha traveling together to explore the world. We also find out the fates of Dracula’s generals Hector (Theo James), Isaac (Adetokumboh M’Cormack), and Carmilla (Jaime Murray). We left Isaac forming an army of his own after Dracula pushes him into another part of the world to save him. Carmilla ends up enslaving Hector to do her bidding in order to rebuild her forces and take advantage of the void left by the death of Dracula. It’ll be interesting to see where the new season takes these characters as they go off in different directions to tackle the new world.
