Game developer Bungie has teamed up with Red Bull to give fans of the energy drink a temporarily exclusive quest called "The Taken King” for the popular game “Destiny.” The news comes shortly after more expensive “Destiny” content was revealed, which angered veteran fans of the game.

The Bungie-Red Bull team-up was confirmed by the drink company through its official website, where it not only advertised the “Taken King” quest, but the bonus XP one can get as well. The quest can only be played when a can of Red Bull has been purchased, where a code for the mission can be found.

Reaction has been mixed, with some finding it to be a silly but harmless way to advertise the “Destiny” game, while others think it’s a disgusting maneuver. Forbes also reported that the team of “Dying Light” has made fun of the partnership, stating that the open-world zombie game would go great with water.

Those who don’t like Red Bull will eventually have access to the “Taken King” quest as well, but according to GameSpot, not until 2016. The price for the “Taken King” quest hasn’t been announced.

Ever since it was announced a few years ago, few games have been hyped as strongly as “Destiny” has. This is probably because Bungie previously worked on the “Halo” games, which proved to be a powerhouse franchise for Microsoft. While “Destiny,” released last September, is still young, the series has proved to be quite popular among fans of the shooter genre.

“Destiny” is available now for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Red Bull cans with the special codes for “The Taken King” will be available in September in 7-Eleven stores only, so those who drink Red Bull and play “Destiny” will only have to wait a few months.
