The rumors are true! Katee Sackhoff is set to appear in Season 4 of CW’s “The Flash.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, Sackhoff will play the recurring role of DC Comics villain Amunet Black, who also goes by name Blacksmith. Amunet is described as a “steely” and “badass boss” of an underground black market for supervillains. Amunet uses every means possible, including a long list of metahumans under her control, to make sure that her forbidden venture flourishes.

Sackhoff will first appear in Season 4, episode 5, titled “Girls Night Out,” which will also feature an appearance by “Arrow’s” Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards).

In the comics, Amunet runs and operates The Network, an underground black market in Central and Keystone City for supervillains to buy, sell or move contraband. She’s able to keep The Network hidden from the authorities, and if any villain reforms or quits, she makes sure that memories of The Network are erased from their minds.

Amunet also had a brief marriage to Goldface, a former political sciences student who gained superhuman strength and invulnerability after being exposed to a chest of gold that had been affected by toxic waste. When they divorced, Amunet stole the elixir that gave Goldface his powers. Before taking the elixir, Amunet changed its formulation, giving her the ability to merge metal with flesh as well as shape it to her will.

Rumors that Sackhoff will be joining the upcoming season of “The Flash” first surfaced when she shared a photo of a script for her “new job” on Twitter. Although she censored most of the details on the script’s title page, there were clues to it being a script for “The Flash.” ComicBook.com pointed out that part of the show’s lightning bolt logo can be seen near the actress’ pencil. The start of the phrase “Berlanti Productions,” which is one of the series’ production companies, can also be seen in the picture.

Sackhoff is the latest addition to the growing list of series newcomers in Season 4 of “The Flash,” which already includes Neil Sandilands as Season 4’s big bad Clifford DeVoe/The Thinker, Kim Engelbrecht as DeVoe’s right hand The Mechanic, Danny Trejo as Gypsy’s (Jessica Camacho) father Breacher, Hartley Sawyer as Ralph Dibny/Elongated Man and Sugar Lyn Beard as Rebecca Sharpe/Hazard.

Sackhoff currently stars as Vic Moretti on Netflix’s “Longmire.” Her other TV credits include Fox’s “24,” Sci-fi’s “Battlestar Galactica” and CBS’ “The Education of Max Bickford.” On the film side, Sackhoff recently appeared in the horror flick “Oculus” and in the sci-fi thriller “Riddick.” Sackhoff will be seen next in Hasraf Dulull’s sci-fi movie “Origin Unknown,” which also stars Julie Cox and Ray Fearon.

“The Flash” Season 4 premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
