It seems that Gene Simmons is finally making an honest woman out of his Playboy Playmate girlfriend of 28 years, Shannon Tweed.

On Tuesday's season finale of the couple's A&E reality series, Gene Simmons' Family Jewels, the KISS bassist, 61, gets down on one knee to propose to the mother of his two children, US magazine reported.

"I come with so much baggage, but you're the only friend I've got. You're the only one I love ... and you're the only one I will ever love," Simmons told Tweed during a recent vacation to Belize, according to advance show excerpts obtained by E! News. "I've never said those words to anybody. I don't ever want to ... funny, I used to watch movies where they say I can't live without you, but for me, it's true. Please marry me."

While the episode has yet to be seen my fans, it is set to air on Tuesday, Tweed, 54, accepts the rocker's proposal.

So it seems Simmons has changed his earlier views of marriage.

"Marriage means nothing to me. Happiness means everything," he once said. "All I see in marriage is a lot of desperately unhappy people."
