“General Hospital” star Ingo Rademacher is facing a wave of backlash from his fellow cast members after making a transphobic comment on a social media post.

Over the weekend, the Australian native, known for his role as Jasper “Jax” Jacks on the ABC soap opera, reposted a tweet on his Instagram account which labeled Rachel Levine "a dude." Levine became the first transgender Assistant Secretary for Health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

On Sunday night, "General Hospital" cast member Cassandra James, who is transgender, called Rademacher out over the controversial post.

“I am aware of a transphobic post shared by a fellow ‘General Hospital’ actor. Shame on you. You have some serious unlearning and education to do. I feel deeply disappointed that such a public display of ignorance could come from our ‘GH’ family,” James tweeted.

On Monday, James received support from "General Hospital" cast members like Nancy Grahn, Laura Wright, and Wes Ramsey, who slammed the insensitive post.

Shortly after his cast members spoke out, Rademacher shared a video on Instagram addressing the Levine post.

Rademacher apologized to James while praising her talent and beauty. He also pointed out that he reposted the tweet and did not call Levine a “dude.” He apologized for not crossing out the word “dude” and replacing it with “transgender.”

The actor went on to deny allegations that he was transphobic and revealed he allowed his son to walk around in a Disney princess dress. “I don’t think a transphobic dad would buy his son a Disney princess dress,” he said.

Rademacher also told his followers he would address his status on “GH” in the future. The actor has been opposed to the vaccine mandate, which leaves his position on the show unknown.
