Since Jason returned to Port Charles, Sam has done her best to avoid engaging in any kind of conversation with him. Typically running in the other direction when she sees Jason, Sam will finally be forced to face the man who she thought she would spend the rest of her life with on the Thursday, Dec. 14 episode of “General Hospital.”

The last viewers saw of Jason (Steve Burton) and Sam (Kelly Monaco), the two came across one another on the pier, and while Sam was ready to run for the hills, Jason asked her to stay and talk.

In the preview, Jason tells Sam that the only reason he is still alive is because a person helped him. Although he doesn’t name the person, it may lead him to mention the conversation he had with Drew (Billy Miller).

In the previous episode, Jason spoke to Drew about getting to the bottom of why their memories were switched. Although Jason has extensive memory loss, he hoped Drew would be able to dig deep and access buried memories that may bring them answers.

While Drew was pessimistic about unlocking his memories, he told his twin to keep him up to date in his search and offered his help should Jason ever need it.

Elsewhere, Sam spoke to Monica (Leslie Charleson) about the changes going on in her life, including learning that Drew is Oscar’s (Garren Stitt) father.

The conversation remained cordial until Monica questioned Sam about why she has yet to mention Jason in their conversation. Sam became defensive, but finally admitted that she can’t bring herself to say Jason’s name or be near him because she was overwhelmed by the memories and love they once shared.

When Monica questions whether Sam’s feelings for Drew have changed since Jason came back into the picture, Sam insists that she loves her husband and the life they built together. However, she acknowledged that things would not be able to remain how they once were.

It’s no secret that Jason and Sam are meant to be together, and deep down Sam knows who her true love is. While she may not admit to the truth just yet, coming face to face with Jason may give her heart a push in the right direction.

“General Hospital” airs weekdays at 3 p.m. EST on ABC.
