  • miHoYo confirmed that it plans to roll our version 1.2 with lots of QoL improvements
  • "Genshin Impact" players would soon get free Wishes

Game developer miHoYo revealed that it is planning to introduce lots of Quality of Life improvements in “Genshin Impact,” including rewarding players with free Wishes when ascending characters.

The latest information came directly from the Chinese gaming studio on its Developer Discussion. When “Genshin Impact” Update 1.2 goes live, players will earn Acquaint Fates when ascending characters. Every time a character ascends at Level 20, Level 50 and Level 70, the player is entitled to one Fate.

According to miHoYo, this is only applicable to Character Ascension. Interestingly, players who have already ascended their characters before “Genshin Impact” version 1.2 rolls out can still claim Acquaint Fates. They just need to get it from the Ascension Materials Preview page and claim it as a rank bonus.

Based on the game’s current framework, characters can Ascend three times. In other words, should “Genshin Impact” version 1.2 roll out, players could get as many as three free Acquaint Fates for every character. Acquaint Fates are used for Wishes on the game’s banners.

Apart from free Wishes, “Genshin Impact” version 1.2 would also introduce lots of Quality of Life improvements. This includes a trackable map pin for smoother and easier navigation, a chat function and an option to repeat Domains. This is handy since players would no longer need to leave and enter the same Domain again.

The upcoming version would also feature autoplay dialogues. Moreover, players will see on their inventories loots from Ley Line Outcrops and Domains when “Genshin Impact” version 1.2 hit the servers. At the time of this publication, miHoYo has not yet revealed the specific date of the update’s release.

Rumors have it that “Genshin Impact” version 1.2 might go live not long after the Zhongli banner of Gentry of Hermitage concludes on Dec. 22. Earlier this month, miHoYo gave away a total of 800 free Primogems. The freebie is a part of the gaming studio’s way of thanking fans for their support of the game and for the recognition it received.

The prestigious Google Play Awards named “Genshin Impact” as the Best Game of 2020, Users' Choice and Best Innovative Games in several countries. The game also received the Apple App Store Game of the Year Award.
