KEY POINTS

  • A leaked event may have Beidou as one of its redeemable rewards
  • The event will reportedly come as part of the 2.0 Inazuma update.
  • A new boss containing Ayaka's ascension materials could arrive as well

A new info drop from one of “Genshin Impact’s” many reputable leakers suggests that a new event is coming soon, featuring a new boss and a bunch of new challenges that will let players earn Beidou without rolling for her at the gacha.

The new event is supposedly called “Thunder Crash” according to Genshin Intel, and it will have players trek through several Electro-based trials around Inazuma. The challenges will reward Storm Sleet and Crackling Crystal, two new currencies that can be used to redeem prizes from the event’s shop.

The event’s rewards are yet to be discovered, but leaks suggest that the 4-star Electro character Beidou will be among the redeemable prizes that players can grind for.

Beidou is a claymore user who specializes in countering enemy attacks and dealing very high amounts of Electro damage to multiple enemies. She is considered to be one of the strongest Electro units in the game and one of the best picks for late Abyss stages thanks to her Elemental Burst’s deceptively high damage values against pairs of enemies.

The “Thunder Crash” event will feature four challenges; the first three challenges are reportedly time trials similar to the ones found around the map, except players will have to make use of various mechanics involving electrograna to gain buffs and complete objectives.

The fourth challenge will allegedly introduce a new boss called the Perpetual Mechanical Array. Like the recently-introduced Maguu Kenki, the Perpetual Mechanical Array will be a world boss with a resin cost of 40. This boss will allegedly drop ascension materials for Ayaka, an upcoming 5-star Cryo user from Inazuma.

The new event will supposedly be a part of the 2.0 update, which will include the first half of Inazuma. None of the information has received official confirmation from MiHoYo, howeover, so they’re best taken with a grain of salt.

The first part of “Genshin Impact’s” 1.6 patch is nearly over, and the second half of the update is set to arrive in a week’s time. Players will soon get to play the continuation of the main story quest involving Beidou, Kazuha and the Traveler’s attempts to reach the isolated island nation of Inazuma.
