A man in Georgia was arrested after he was allegedly caught having sex with a dead woman outside a local homeless shelter. Authorities said that the incident took place Sunday in the 100 block of Walnut Street.

Officials say they were called to the scene after a caller complained that two people were having intercourse on the front steps of the property. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a 55-year-old man in the middle of the act with a woman.

Bibb County deputies approached the man and asked him to dress up, they then discovered that the woman was unresponsive. An investigation showed that she "had been deceased for some time," officials say.

Deputies charged the man, identified as Kenny Obyran Whitehead, with necrophilia. He's currently being held without bond.

The cause of death is still under investigation, but officials do not believe it to be foul play.

In a similar incident, a homeless man was sentenced to 12 years in prison last year after he pleaded guilty to having sex with a woman's corpse after breaking into a funeral home in Georgia.

Domonique Cordero Smith went to the Hill Watson Peoples Funeral Service at 2919 Hamilton Road where he violated the corpse. Surveillance footage from the day showed Smith walking into the room where the body was located. He was also seen taking a pair of underwear from the body, according to local media. Police found the man in a vacant Columbus home on the 500 block of 23rd Street on the day of the crime.

Judge Ron Mullins sentenced Smith to 20 years incarceration on charges of first-degree burglary and necrophilia, which is the term used for developing exciting fantasy of sex with a corpse. Smith was re-sentenced to 15 years in prison with 12 to serve and three on probation.
