KEY POINTS

  • The file size of "Ghost of Tsushima" is at 50GB
  • It is relatively decent when compared to games like "The Last of Us Part 2" and "Final Fantasy 7 Remake"
  • "Ghost of Tsushima is set to be released on July 17

“Ghost of Tsushima” has eased one of the biggest concerns of its fans: file size.

After its epic gameplay reveals during the recent State-of-Play broadcast by Sony, there were some worries that the game would be too heavy. Besides, with its new features and stunning graphics, it is only right to assume that it would take a significant amount in the console’s storage.

Fortunately, that is not the case. As revealed on the PlayStation Store listing for the pre-order of the game, it will only require 50GB to download.

While it is not small, it is definitely not that big either since major games nowadays are in that 50GB range. For what it’s worth, the “The Last of Us Part 2” will require at least 100 GB – making it the biggest PlayStation 4-exclusive game when it comes to size.

Moreover, the recent “Final Fantasy 7 Remake” and the 2018 “Red Dead Redemption 2” both came in at over 90GB each.

With that said, the 50GB install size of “Ghost of Tsushima” pales in comparison, which should be a welcome development to fans.

While the file size grows over time due to updates, new content and feature, the relatively small size of the upcoming open-world, the samurai-themed game should allow players to still enjoy other games without worrying about the console slowing down or overloading.

“Ghost of Tsushima” is one of the most highly anticipated games of 2020, and Sony’s State-of-Play broadcast only added to the hype.

As reported previously, aside from its interesting narrative, gameplay, combat system, and graphics, the game also boasts what could be said as one of the best photo modes in the industry – in which players can adjust color grading, depth of field, facial expression, particle effects and even wind direction!

The character customization in the Sucker Punch-developed title is equally incredible as well, thanks to its in-depth and detailed process.

“Ghost of Tsushima” will be released exclusively on PS4 on July 17. It was supposed to be launched on June 26 but has been moved due to the coronavirus pandemic. It has also had to give way to “The Last of Us Part 2” which is slated for a June 19 release.
