KEY POINTS

  • "Ghostwire: Tokyo" rewards exploration with loot and upgrade materials
  • Side-quests are great for earning money and XP
  • Don't forget to pet and feed the dogs

The spooky, ghost-infested streets of Shibuya in “Ghostwire: Tokyo” have plenty of secrets to find, locations to explore and Visitors to fight. The game may not be as difficult as some recent releases or Tango’s older “Evil Within” games, but it will still keep players on their toes as they experience Akito’s adventure.

Here are a few handy tips that can help players get the most out of every activity in “Ghostwire: Tokyo.”

Feed the dogs

While exploring, players may find some Shiba Inu dogs wandering the streets or barking at spirits. Apart from petting them or reading their thoughts, players can also feed them treats.

Feeding dogs actually has a practical benefit. Once fed, they’ll often lead players to some interesting things like useful loot, upgrades and Yokai that may give some useful skill materials.

Focus on Wind Weaving

Out of all the weapons and powers at Akito’s disposal, the Wind element for Ethereal Weaving will more or less serve as the player’s primary weapon. It’s the most versatile of the three elements and has the most ammo as well.

It would be wise to get as many Wind Weaving nodes as possible to make sure Akito is always in top performance. Upgrading the charge rate and the number of hits for charged attacks is highly recommended.

Spirits and Katashiro upgrades

Depositing stranded spirits in telephone boosts is an excellent way to earn money and XP, but players can only carry a limited number of spirits in their Katashiro. With that in mind, try to upgrade the Katashiro to hold as many spirits as possible to prevent frustration or reduce the frequency of phone booth visits down the road.

KK’s investigation notes

Apart from leveling up and doing side quests, collecting KK’s investigation notes is a very good way to earn some free skill points.

There are always a few investigation notes in each shrine district, and they will always appear when Akito uses Spectral Vision. Look for small notebooks or folders when exploring the city. Each investigation note rewards 20 skill points, which should be enough to entice players to actively seek them out.
