‘Girl Meets World’ Angela And Shawn Episode Will Cause ‘Full Scale Audience Rebellion’

Brace yourselves, Angela (Trina McGee) and Shawn (Rider Strong) shippers. The “Boy Meets World” couple might not have panned out when the show ended in 2000, but they’re going to reunite on-screen in an upcoming “Girl Meets World” episode. The reunion is old news for fans of the Disney spinoff series, but show creator Michael Jacobs just dropped a bombshell at the 2015 ATX Television Festival that fans might not appreciate.

“We’re about to throw Shawn and Angela at you,” Jacobs told International Business Times on the red carpet. “In three weeks it’s going to be on the air … and there is going to be full-scale audience rebellion. We had to make a choice – Are we writing this real like we always did?”

A “full-scale audience rebellion”? It doesn’t sound like Angela and Shawn fans are going to get the happy ending they’ve been waiting for.

“Boy Meets World” lovers will remember that Angela left before the series finale to go to Europe with her father. Although it seemed Shawn was going to propose to her and ask her to stay, he decided not to go through with it after she thanked him for being so understanding about her leaving.

The Shawn and Angela reunion episode is called “Girl Meets Hurricane” and will air on Disney on June 19. “And it is, believe me,” Jacobs teased of the “Hurricane” part of the title.

According to the synopsis Cory (Ben Savage) and Shawn take Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) out for a “fun night.” However, things get derailed when someone from Shawn’s past “comes back into his life.”
