Gisele Bündchen is wishing her ex-husband Tom Brady well as he embarks on a new journey.

On Wednesday, Brady announced his retirement from football for the second time in an emotional video on Instagram. The development came exactly a year after he made the same announcement but later changed his mind.

Reacting to his latest retirement news, Bündchen left a supportive message for Brady and for his future in the comments section of his Instagram post.

"Wishing you only wonderful things in this new chapter of your life," the model wrote, alongside a prayer emoji.

Bündchen's comment received mixed responses from social media users. While she likely had no ill intention in leaving the message, some felt she was shading Brady following rumors that the exes went through marital strife over his decision to un-retire from the NFL last year.

"She had to take one last swipe at the man," one person commented, alongside laughing emojis. Another added, "Yeah, she ain't coming back."

"She [is] in her Shakira era," a third user commented, referring to singer Shakira, who is also going through a public breakup with ex Gerard Pique.

"Of course you do because all the other chapters you've burned and charred," another wrote with a laughing emoji.

In March 2022, six weeks after saying he was quitting football, Brady reversed his retirement decision and returned to the NFL for his 23rd season, his third with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Reports then began to surface that his marriage to Bündchen was on the rocks due to him walking back his decision to leave the field. The then-couple never addressed the rumors but started living separately.

In October 2022, Brady and Bündchen divorced after 13 years of marriage.

The pair said in separate statements at the time that their decision to part ways was an amicable one. However, some fans were not convinced, citing the difference in the tone of their statements.

"My priority has always been and will continue to be our children, whom I love with all my heart. We will continue co-parenting to give them the love, care and attention they greatly deserve," Bündchen wrote in her statement released via Instagram Stories, adding, "The decision to end a marriage is never easy, but we have grown apart."

In his own announcement, Brady still referred to Bündchen as his "wife" and said they "arrived at the decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together."

"I feel like with Gisele saying, 'we grew apart,' and Tom Brady just being like, 'this is amicable,' sounds a little different," one Twitter user commented.

"Two completely different narratives about the divorce...Good for Gisele, I love how she said, 'my priority,' because we know Brady doesn't give a [f---] about her or their kids," another user added.

Last week, Brady went on an expletive-filled rant after he was asked about his plans for his career on his podcast "Let's Go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray."

"If I knew what I was f–king doing, I'd have already f–king done it," Brady said. "I'm taking it a day a time."

Bündchen and Brady share two children, Vivian, 10, and Benjamin, 13. He is also a dad to 15-year-old Jack, whom he shares with ex Bridget Moynahan.
