The official website of “The God of High School” has released the synopsis of the first episode. The website has also released a set of spoiler photos teasing what fans can expect in the debut episode.

According to the synopsis, there a fighting competition for high school students from all over Japan called The God of High School tournament. It determines the strongest high schooler of all.

In “The God of High School” Episode 1, Jin Mori, the protagonist of the anime series, lives alone with his grandfather. He is invited to the prestigious God of High School tournament. As he sets out for the district qualifying venue, Jin sees a local thief snatching an old lady’s purse. He starts chasing the snatcher and bumps into another contestant named Yoo Mira.

“He's told that if he wins, any wish he makes will be granted... All the participants are powerful contenders who fight their hardest for their own wishes. What awaits them at the end of the tournament? A chaotic battle between unbelievably strong high school students is about to begin!” reads the official series synopsis.

The characters of “The God of High School” include some of the finest fighters in Japan. Han Daewi, voiced by Kentaro Kumagai, is an expert in full-contact karate, and his power stands at level 9. Yoo Mira, voiced by Ayaka Ohashi, has trained in Moon Light Sword style and is level 9 fighter. Park Ilpyo, voiced by Kentaro Kumagai, is a level 8 fighter and is a Ssamu Taekgyeon-trained fighter. Jin Mori, voiced by Tatsumaru Tachibana, is a Re-Taekwondo fighter with level 6 under his belt.

The anime series is based on the original manhwa by Yongje Park. Seong Ho Park is the director of the anime. The opening theme is performed by KSUKE, and the ending theme is by CIX.

“The God of High School” Episode 1 is scheduled to air Monday (July 6). The episode will be available online via live streaming on Crunchyroll. Currently, Crunchyroll will air the episodes in Japanese with English subtitles.
