The most recent rumors and leaks suggest that Google is working on a more affordable “Lite” model for the Pixel 3. Now a set of live images have leaked online, showing the Pixel 3 “Lite” alongside a variety of different devices.

The images of the Google Pixel 3 “Lite” prototype were published online by the Russian website Wysla. The site claims that the device is currently codenamed “Sargo” and it’s been described as a “simplified version” of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. The device was photographed alongside other handsets like the iPhone X, iPhone XS Max, the Pixel 3 XL and the first-generation 5-inch Google Pixel.

The Pixel 3 Lite appears to be smaller than the Pixel 3 XL, which is equipped with a 6.4-inch display. Wysla also posted an image of the Pixel 3 “Sargo” alongside the regular Pixel 3, and it looks like the two devices are pretty similar in terms of size. The device was also compared with the iPhone XR, and the former also appears to be just as large as the latter.

There’s no way of confirming if the leaked images are showing a legit prototype of the Pixel 3 Lite. The Verge did point out that the device is carrying a suspicious “C” logo on its back rather than Google’s typical “G” logo. However, it’s possible that this was a way for Google to mask the phone’s identity.

So, how will this “Sargo” handset differentiate itself from the regular Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL? Well, the upcoming device doesn’t have a notch on its display like the XL model. The Pixel 3 Lite is also said to be primarily made out of plastic materials, which is likely why the device will be much cheaper when compared to the regular Pixel 3. As for internal specs, the Pixel 3 Lite is believed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 processor. The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are both powered by the flagship Snapdragon 845.

The Pixel 3 Lite is also believed to be carrying 4GB of RAM with a base storage option of just 32GB. Like the flagship models, the Pixel 3 Lite won’t have a microSD card slot for expandable storage. Most importantly, however, the Pixel 3 Lite will allegedly have the same cameras that are found on the regular Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Google’s computational photography technologies have already proven itself in producing amazing images. This means the Pixel 3 Lite could end up being the budget Android smartphone with the best cameras in its class.

Google hasn’t made any official announcements about the Pixel 3 Lite yet. It’s currently being speculated that the device might get an official launch sometime next year, possibly during CES 2019 in January, according to GSM Arena.
