When “Grey’s Anatomy” aired its Season 12 midseason finale, Shonda Rhimes, creator of the hit medical series, left fans with some pretty hefty cliffhangers — ones that lingered in our minds until the ABC drama returned. But luckily for viewers, some of those burning questions were answered in episode 10, titled “All I Want is You.”

The episode begins with Meredith (Ellen Pomepo) in therapy. She’s explaining to her therapist (Bill Smitrovich) how she’s coping following her brutal attack, which took place in the winter premiere.

“I’ve dealt with the big stuff. This isn’t the big stuff that we’re working with,” she says. But her doctor is confused. Isn't getting attacked by a patient in her own hospital considered a “big” deal?

“Have you read my file?” she quips, adding that it’s a “real page turner.”

During their session, Meredith explains that she’s feeling smothered by her friends, who are constantly lurking around her. “[Maggie] (Kelly McCreary) has people over all the time, like if I’m alone I’ll explode or something,” Mer says. But she’s reluctant to tell them to leave because they’re “just trying to help.”

That’s when Meredith’s therapist suggests to her patient that she tells them to give her space. So, she takes his advice and urges them to get out of her house. But when they do leave, Meredith is left alone with her thoughts — and not all of them are good. That’s when Meredith realizes (thanks to the help of her therapist) that being surrounded by her loved ones fills her up.

But Meredith doesn’t just solely talk about her problems during her therapy session. She also dives into Alex’s (Justin Chambers) romantic troubles with Jo (Camilla Luddington). According to Meredith, Alex never received an answer to his marriage proposal from Jo.

“She didn’t say no. She didn’t say yes,” Meredith says, revealing that Jo did give him the boot from their home, which is why Alex is currently squatting at her apartment.

That’s when Mer’s therapist asks the question that’s been on all of our minds — is there something going on between Meredith and Alex?

“Do I have feelings for Alex? That’s funny. No,” she responds with a laugh.

But Alex and Jo aren’t the only Grey Sloan duo walking in limbo. Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Penny (Samantha Sloyan) are also struggling in the relationship department. According to Callie, she misses her red headed lover — especially the sex they had. Alex chimes in that he also misses slipping between the sheets with Jo. But luckily for the duo, karma was on their side. Both Callie and Alex rekindled their fiery romances by the end of episode 10.

Another major cliffhanger that was also touched upon was Owen’s (Kevin McKidd) beef with Riggs (Martin Henderson). The two began the episode on a sour note, going head-to-head after April (Sarah Drew) paged them both for a patient who was experiencing chest pains. But the two stubborn docs were unable to work together — even when an ambulance exploded right outside Grey Sloan's doors.

Owen finally opened up about why he despises the New Zealand hunk when Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) calls the doctor out for being closed off.

“You make me feel like cr-- when there’s no words coming out of your mouth,” she says, prompting Owen to finally let Amelia in.

“I had a sister … Megan. She was two years younger than me,” he began. “We went to med school together ... that’s where we met Riggs. Megan loved him. And he was with her the day that he lost her. He was like a brother to me and he should … but he didn’t. I don’t talk about it.”

While many would stand with their jaws agape, Amelia manages to find the perfect response to Owen’s gut-wrenching confession.

“She loved him for a reason,” she says, revealing that she applies that concept to her relationship with Meredith. “Maybe he deserves another chance.”

So, Owen listens to Amelia's words of wisdom and gives Riggs another chance. During his surgery he requests that Riggs is paged down to give him and April a hand. Riggs gets right to work and the two surgeons flawlessly complete the surgery together with movements so silky we were nearly mesmerized.
