Canadian musician Grimes took to Instagram Sunday to share that she trolled paparazzi who followed her after she and Elon Musk announced their split on Sept. 24.

The 33-year-old musician admitted that she was "really stressed" when the paparazzi kept following her for a week. However, she realized that it was an "opportunity to troll" them.

"Paparazzi followed me 2 a shoot so I tried 2 think what I could do that would yield the most onion-ish possible headline and it worked haha," she wrote in her post.

Apparently, she staged a photo of herself reading Karl Marx's "The Communist Manifesto," and the paparazzi bought it.

She shared the said snap in her Instagram post, alongside a screenshot of New York Post's headline, which was accompanied by her staged photograph. "Grimes seen reading Karl Marx following split with world's richest man Elon Musk," the headline read.

"I swear this headline omg wtf haha im dead," she said further. "Full disclosure I'm still living with e and I am not a communist."

She went on to praise Marx's book and noted that though there are some really "smart" ideas in it, she personally believes in the future of crypto and gaming.

"Personally I'm more interested in a radical decentralized ubi that I think could potentially be achieved thru crypto and gaming but I haven't ironed that idea out enough yet to explain it," she noted. "Regardless my opinions on politics are difficult to describe because the political systems that inspire me the most have not yet been implemented."

In conclusion, she warned the paparazzi to stop "chasing" her otherwise she will think of more ways to "meme" them. She also encouraged fans to send suggestions on how to do it.

Fans took to the comments section to share their reaction.

One of the fans wrote, "Photo inception if you start using this as your press photo."

Another fan supporter noted, "Honestly I love how the lines get more blurred every day between 'stuff grimes normally does' and 'stuff that's enough like grimes that we can't tell if it's satire' Keep the internet confused queen lmao."

Musk, 50, and Grimes were together for three years. They have a baby boy named X Æ A-Xii.

Grimes was last seen in the short movie "Discord - The Movie," which was released on July 23. Musk, on the other hand, will be next seen in the TV series "Interplanetary Quest."
