A high school teacher in Cincinnati, Ohio, was arrested Tuesday on child pornography charges.

Jeremy Collins, 39, who taught German at Walnut Hills High School, was charged with “two counts of disseminating matter harmful to a juvenile, both felonies of the fourth degree, and three counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, felonies of the second degree.”

According to Fox19, the suspect was arrested by the airport police and booked into the Boone County Jail pending extradition to Hamilton County. No other details about his arrest were known.

"Last night, law enforcement officials informed Cincinnati Public Schools that Jeremy Collins, a German language teacher at Walnut Hills High School, was under investigation. CPS immediately notified Collins that he was not permitted on any CPS property, activities, or events while CPS cooperated in the investigation,” Cincinnati Public Schools said in a statement Wednesday.

The statement further added: “CPS is referring this matter to the Office of Professional Conduct at the Ohio Department of Education. CPS will continue to cooperate with law enforcement officials with regard to this investigation.”

According to NBC-affiliated WLWT5, the mother of one of the victims in the case alerted the police regarding an inappropriate relationship between the accused and her daughter after she found sexually suggestive pictures and messages on the girl’s phone.

The arrest was made following a joint investigation by the Cheviot Police Department and members of the Regional Electronics & Computer Investigations task force, according to Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Neil, Cheviot Police Chief Emmett Stone and Cincinnati Police Chief Eliot Isaac.

Authorities didn't provide any further specifics regarding the allegations against Collins or whether it involved any students of the high school he was employed in.

Investigators believed there could still be more victims. Hence, anyone with information related to this case was requested to report the information to the Regional Electronic and Computer Investigations task force at 513-946-8335.
