During (Sebastian Koch, left) and Carrie (Claire Danes) run from an apparent threat in "Homeland" Season 5, episode 2. Showtime/Stephen Rabold

Carrie’s trip to war-torn Lebanon will kick off in the second installment of “Homeland” Season 5. In the season opener Carrie Mathison's (Claire Danes) new boss, Otto During (Sebastian Koch), informed her of his plans to travel overseas to lend a monetary hand to the refugee crisis. After receiving a promise of safe passage to the refugee camp in the premiere, Carrie will accompany the billionaire philanthropist there in episode 2, “The Tradition of Hospitality," but as she predicted, things will not go smoothly.

“The situation on the ground is unpredictable to say the least,” Carrie tells During in the episode 2 promo video. “We’ve been told to limit the time of the visit to one hour.” While During says he feels their visit will go longer due to the amount of niceties he will have to perform, he agrees to Carrie’s plan. But that doesn’t appear to be enough to keep them in the clear.

After announcing to the Lebanese refugees that he will be gifting their camp $10 million, an altercation occurs. “Get into cover,” Carrie yells after a suspected threat is seen reaching into his jacket. A later shot shows an explosion taking place.

Unfortunately for Carrie, it appears threats on the ground won’t be her only concern in episode 2. In a sneak-peek video, titled “Classic Trojan Horse,” Hank accuses her of joining forces with During in order to get intel. He tells her that her job as During's head of security appears to be a cover-up of sorts. When he asks her if she concocted the plan to work for During with CIA European Division Chief Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin), Carrie denies the accusations.

Meanwhile, Saul and Berlin Station Chief Allison Carr (Miranda Otto) will be “at odds,” according to the synopsis. The promo video shows Allison accusing Carrie of being part of the hacking that caused the CIA to lose classified documents. “We suffered a major penetration here,” Allison says as shots of During journalist Laura Sutton (Sarah Sokolovich) and Carrie together flash on-screen.

“Do you think Carrie’s involved?” Saul asks.

“They do both work for During,” Allison responds.
