Camilla Parker Bowles is an asset to Prince Charles.

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall are happily married. However, their second shot at romance had a rough start.

Aside from being Prince Charles’ lover, Camilla reportedly helped Prince Charles weed out the wrong people in his life because the future king is a “bad judge of character.” Thus, Camilla would see off those women who would go after the future king for the wrong reasons.

In Penny Junor’s 2017 biography “The Duchess: The Untold Story,” the biographer quotes Sir James Goldsmith’s famous line, “When a man marries his mistress he creates vacancy.”

“That won’t happen on Camilla’s watch; she sees off anyone who shows the slightest designs on her husband,” the author wrote.

An insider told Junor that Camilla didn’t like women and was marginalizing them. She didn’t believe it, but she was aware that Camilla was wary of the women who are “toady” to the future king. She knows those who flatter the apparent heir and those who laugh even before he makes a joke.

Junor said that Prince Charles is “very susceptible to flattery.” She added that “he’s a very bad judge of character and it is the siren tongues.”

When someone is nice to Prince Charles, he automatically finds that person wonderful. On the other hand, Camilla is very “sharp on people.”

“There’s also a slight sense of unease when its women who are prettier and cleverer and and talking the same language as him, which she doesn’t do,” Junor continued.

“She can be quite dismissive of them and she’s quite right.”

Prince Charles and Camilla dated first before they married their first spouses Princess Diana and Andrew Parker Bowles, respectively. However, she was “unhappy” with her first marriage with Andrew. Camilla felt that she was the “betrayed woman” due to his adulterous behavior. So, she came running back into Prince Charles’ arms.

The Prince of Wales lacked sensitivity when he didn’t tell Princess Diana that Camilla was an old flame, instead, he just introduced her to his wife as a friend. For Junor, by not telling the People’s Princess the truth, Prince Charles failed to handle things well. Prince Charles “made a huge mistake,” the biographer added.
