ABC’s suspense-driven TV series “How To Get Away With Murder” Season 3 promises that the winter finale (episode 9) will finally reveal who is #UnderTheSheet.

For weeks, we have been speculating the identity of the person who was in Annalise Keating’s (Viola Davis) house when someone set it on fire.

The list of the soon-to-be dead person dwindled when we learned that Wes Gibbins (Alfred Enoch) is the one who betrayed his surrogate mother and got her locked up. Episode 8 also axed Connor Walsh (Jack Falahee) from the list when we found out that he was busy pleasing Oliver’s crush, Thomas, while Annalise’s house burned down.

Right now, the list of the possible unidentified male rotting at the morgue consists of two people – Annalise’s former investigator Frank Delfino (Charlie Weber) and ex-boyfriend Nate Lahey (Billy Brown). So, who is it?

1. Frank

It seems very obvious that Frank may be the man under the sheet. First of all, he was last seen pointing a gun to his chin in Annalise’s house. Secondly, he is willing to die in order be forgiven by the lawyer for killing her unborn child. Thirdly, he has no one to lose. After Bonnie (Liza Weil) told him to get out and he found out that Laurel (Karla Souza) loves Wes, why reason is there for him to stick around?

However, if Frank is under the sheet, it won’t be shocking at all. And “HTGAWM” is rarely predictable.

2. Nate

The synopsis of the upcoming episode of “How To Get Away With Murder” reveals that Annalise will receive a tip about A.D.A Atwood (Milauna Jackson), Nate’s current girlfriend. This tip leads Annalise to have heated confrontation with Nate. Is this the reason why he dies?

The second clue that supports the idea of Nate being under the sheet is that Viola Davis’ character was extremely upset when she found out who it was. It seems like only her ex-boyfriend, whom she still loves, could elicit such a reaction. But even Nate is a pretty obvious choice in this scenario which leads us to the idea of a possible third person.

3. A Third Person

Remember Drake (Behzad Dabu)? He was the Middleton University student who defamed Annalise’s character by putting up photos of her with the words ‘murder’ written on them. He could easily be the man under the sheet.

The most important clue that supports this theory is that Wes readily produced evidence to the police to charge her with first degree murder. Wes could have Drake’s laptop or lead the police to it which proves that he defamed Annalise and led to her suspension. In order to get back at him, she called him to her house and set it on fire. This seems like a very plausible explanation.

However, it could be someone else entirely. Someone we never suspected.

“HTGAWM” Season 3, episode 9, also the mid-season/winter finale, premieres Thursday, Nov. 17 at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
