Although Annalise has been trying to focus on making the most out of her Supreme Court win, on “How To Get Away With Murder” Season 5, episode 4, a major bombshell may ruin relationships that she has been trying to rebuild.

“Annalise (Viola Davis) and Nate (Billy Brown) try to get Nate’s dad a psych evaluation so they can have his murder case retried under an insanity plea,” the “It’s Her Kid” synopsis teases.

Nate’s father still isn’t out of jail, but after Annalise managed to bring attention to the reforms needed in the justice system, she believes she can make him a free man. However, the governor remains bitter about her Supreme Court win and is determined to see her fail.

Will the vendetta hurt Nate’s chances of getting his father a fair trial or will Annalise be able to work her magic and finally reunite the father and son?

Elsewhere in the “How To Get Away With Murder” Season 5, episode 4 promo video, Nate tells Annalise that Bonnie (Liza Weil) needs to know the truth, but Annalise refuses. She tells him Bonnie had her baby when she was 15 years old. When she woke up after passing out during labor, her father told her the baby was dead.

In the previous episode of the ABC drama, Nate showed Annalise an image of what he thought was Bonnie stealing her own baby, but Annalise identified the woman as Bonnie’s sister.

Later on in the “HTGAWM” promo video, Nate demands Annalise tell Bonnie the truth. Will he go behind her back and share what the two are hiding?

“Michaela (Aja Naomi King) tries to convince Tegan (Amirah Vann) to give her a chance to earn her trust back,” the synopsis for “It’s Her Kid” says. In the previous episode of the ABC series, Michaela had an emotional breakdown when she realized just how unlikable she really was.

She was devastated to learn that Tegan was more than willing to forgive Annalise for her wrongdoings but refused to allow Michaela to redeem herself. Although she vowed to find a way to get back on Tegan’s good side, Michaela tried to drink her woes away and stumbled into Asher’s (Matt McGorry) building hoping he would take her back.

However, she ran into Frank (Charlie Weber), who convinced her to embrace who she is rather than leaning on someone else. He also reminded her that using Asher as a crutch wouldn’t be fair to her ex-boyfriend, who still cared for her.

Will Frank’s pep talk inspire Michaela to come up with a solid plan to win back Tegan’s trust or will she find herself seeking comfort from the bottom of another bottle?

“How To Get Away With Murder” Season 5, episode 4 airs Thursday at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
