Meghan Markle reportedly made sure not to repeat the curtsy mistake that Kate Middleton committed during her royal wedding in 2011.

In the 2013 Netflix documentary “The Royals,” etiquette expert William Hanson told The Sun that the Duchess of Cambridge forgot to curtsy to Queen Elizabeth II on her wedding day to Prince William.

“The bride actually has to curtsy to the Queen when she gets to where the Queen is sitting, and Catherine Middleton forgot to do this when she was walking up the aisle,” he said (via The Sun).

Hanson also said that following royal protocols is very important especially during weddings.

“Protocol is so important and that’s everything from who arrives when the order they arrive in, obviously the bride is the last person to arrive, but the quest who arrives last is the Queen,” he said.

Middleton’s mistake wasn’t repeated by Markle when she tied the knot with Prince Harry on May 19. The Duchess of Sussex managed to curtsy to Her Majesty before she walked on the aisle to meet Prince Harry.

However, not all royal protocols and traditions during weddings have been followed by the members of the British clan. For instance, Prince William broke royal tradition when he asked Prince Harry to be his best man. Consequently, when Prince Harry got married, Prince William also served as his best man.

Male royals who are about to wed do not normally have a best man. Rather, they have a supporter who assumes a similar role.

In related news, the Christmas plans of the royal family have just been revealed. According to Fox News, Markle and Prince Harry will be celebrating the holidays with Prince William and Middleton. The royal couples will all head to the Queen’s Sandringham Estate for the occasion.

However, it is still unclear how long Prince William and Middleton will stay in Norfolk because the Duchess of Cambridge is also expected to spend time with her side of the family on Christmas Day.

Other members of the royal family, namely, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince Philip, Prince Andrew, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and more will also be in Sandringham for Christmas.
