Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been married for over a year, but their relationship has been plagued by bad press. Although the couple continues to put on a united front, some are worried it won’t be enough to help the 37-year-old achieve her “enterprise.”

After Meghan married Harry in 2018, reports suggested the Duchess of Sussex had plans to modernize the monarchy and use the royal platform to bring attention to significant issues.

During an appearance on ITV’s “Loose Women,” Lady Colin Campbell revealed Meghan could disappoint a lot of people if she doesn’t make the most out of her role in the royal family.

“She embodies something that she set out to achieve and hopefully she will stand the course and go the full ten yards,” she said.

“I think it will be a great tragedy if she doesn’t or if things derail. Because of all of those hundreds of millions, if not billions, of people whose hopes she embodies, would be so disappointed,” she added.

Campbell claimed Meghan had a good chance of becoming succesful due to her dedicated work ethic. “She’s extremely ambitious, she’s extremely bright, she knows exactly what she did. She knows exactly what she’s about,” the commentator revealed.

“In life, you make the choice, you have to deliver the goods. I would hope she delivers the goods continually and for the rest of her life. That’s my hope.”

Campbell went on to reveal that Meghan’s biracial background has earned her support from people around the world “I’m Jamaican so I understand that people of color all over the world are very deeply invested in this enterprise being a great success,” she said.

Meghan has been absent from the royal spotlight following the birth of her and Prince Harry’s son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. Although the end of her maternity leave has not been announced, rumors suggest Meghan could make a public appearance later in the week for Queen Elizabeth’s birthday celebration.
