The new year might bring very good tidings for someone in the United States. After nobody won the Mega Millions jackpot during the last drawing, the prize money has shot up to $415 million, with the next drawing to occur on New Year’s Day.

The winning numbers on Friday night were 9, 10, 25, 37, 38 and 21. The jackpot did not go to anyone that night, so Tuesday night at 11 p.m. ET will be the next opportunity for someone to become a multimillionaire.

Winning $415 million on the first day of 2019 would be a fortunate start to someone’s year, but it would also be a rare occurrence. The drawing has taken place on New Year’s Day five times in the history of Mega Millions, but those five drawings only produced one winner.

John Jones of Fort Worth, Texas won $33 million on Jan. 1, 2008.
