The year was 1994, the month November and the season Christmas. The event? The release of Mariah Carey’s exceptionally famous and classic song, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”

It’s one of the most loved holiday songs and one of the most listened to, no matter how many years go by. That’s exactly why the singer earns the big bucks for it every season.

Carey makes an estimated £370,000 a year in royalties for her famous Christmas track, according to The Daily Mail in 2015, which translates to about $500,000 per year.

While that’s the estimated amount she’s made every year recently, it’s clear that the number has fluctuated throughout time as The Economist reports that Carey’s made over $60 million in royalties since the song’s release in 1994.

The superstar knows how much fans love the song, and she continues to be proud of it and what it means to everyone year after year.

“I’m so grateful and still overwhelmed by the success of this song,” Carey wrote on Instagram Wednesday along with a photo of stats about her song. “Thank you to all my fans around the world for your continued love and support every year!”

The post she shared reveals that the song is the No. 1 song on the Billboard Holiday 100 list, as well as its Holiday Digital Song Sales and Holiday Stream Songs lists.

Aside from her huge royalties and top spots on Billboard lists, Carey also takes the crown as the most popular Christmas song on Spotify, on which the 13 most popular holiday songs have been played more than one billion times, according to The Economist. Of those listens, 210 million of them were of Carey’s Christmas tune.

Now, after all of this and 23 years after its initial release, the song has become a movie.

Carey voiced the character of Older Mariah in the new animated film, “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” which came out in November. The movie features four songs by the star on its soundtrack, which included the classic title track, as well as “Lil Snowman,” “Christmas Time Is in the Air Again,” and “Miss You Most (At Christmas Time).” The new flick also starred Breanna Yde as the voice of Mariah.

That was just one Carey Christmas movie this season. The singer also came out with the animated animal film “The Star,” about the first Christmas, and she voiced the role of Rebecca. She was also featured on the soundtrack with her new Christmas song that was made just for the film, also called “The Star.”

Not only did Carey already put out two new Christmas movies this season, but she’s also been singing her classics all over town, well, New York City, on her fourth annual Hallmark Channel Presents All I Want For Christmas Is You Concert Tour.
